The 9-day trek from Choquequirao to Machu Picchu is one of the most beautiful and interesting treks offered in the Cusco region. Following little-visited trails and Inca trails, beautiful landscape, and visits to the two main Inca sites in the area, this trek has it all!
A magnificent archaeological site and a real adventure! The famous trek from Choquequirao to Machu Picchu is one of the most challenging and one of the most amazing treks in the Cusco region. In fact, it is one of the most complete routes with a very rich flora and fauna, where you can see both the beautiful hummingbirds and the majestic Condor, which is the only bird that flies over 5000 meters high.
During the trip we pass through charming places such as the Apurímac river canyon and the cloud forest, as well as scenic deep valleys. We will visit the archaeological remains of Choquequirao that are scattered on both sides of the Apu Corihuayrachina but only 30% of the site has been brought to light so far. It is more extensive than Machu Picchu, but part of this site is under archaeological excavation and restoration. The region is much more remote. It is certainly a unique trek in the Andes that will offer you an unforgettable experience.
