Its original name in Quechua is Huchuy (small) Qosqo (Cusco) It is a really nice option and not so challenging, since it combines beautiful views where you can see mountains, small lakes, original Inca trails. We will pick you up from your hotel very early, to take you on our bus that will drive us to the town of Patabamba, which is located at (3848 m.a.s.l / 12624 feet) a precise place in the Huchuy Qosqo from where we will start the walk. During the tour, you will be able to enjoy the beautiful landscapes that it offers along the way, until you reach where the trail starts
After a walk we will arrive at the small town of Sihua, then to Pukamarca Mountain (4150 m.a.s.l./13615 feet); whose town bears the same name. Once here you will be able to see a splendid viewpoint of the Urubamba mountain range, as well as the Sacred Valley of the Incas, and all the attractions of Huchuy Qosqo.
From the top we will descend 2 km/0.6 miles (the descent walk will last approximately 45 minutes), to reach the community of Pukamarca where we will enjoy a delicious lunch.
After lunch, we will continue to the Puma Punku canyon (Door of the Puma) through the original Inca trail, which has been restored as part of the Qapacañan project. This trail will take you to the isolated and mysterious Inca site of Huchuy Qosqo.
A curious fact is that, in this space, the highest peak of the Sacred Valley is located, from where we can appreciate the entire Valley in its greatest magnitude, not to mention the incredible mountains and snow-capped mountains of Pitusiray and Sawasiray.
We can also enjoy the Inca buildings, the sacred temples, the storehouses and the Inca terraces for agriculture. It should be noted that these terraces were also used to store water to use it in the irrigation channels, which will make Huchuy Qosqo a great option to be visited
After the guided visit to this archaeological site, we will descend (approximately 2 to 3 hours) to the town of Lamay (2,800 m.a.s.l) along the Urubamba River in the Sacred Valley, where we will take the bus to return to your hotel in Cusco
