We leave Cusco very early in the morning (around 03:30 am) riding a bus for approximately 2 hours, until the town of Ollantaytambo in the Sacred Valley, where we will board the train to Machu Picchu (approximately at 06:10 AM) towards the town of Aguas Calientes.
The advantage of traveling by train is that you can enjoy beautiful landscapes, as well as being a unique experience. This has a long road where nature is present and its travelers will follow the course of the river through the Sacred Valley. We arrive at the town of Aguas Calientes and then we take the bus to Machu Picchu for a guided tour.
The tour lasts approximately 2 hours, during this time you will learn about the history of the Incas and visit all the most important areas of the citadel. After the tour you will have some free time, with the option of getting to know the Citadel for yourself.
You can visit the Inca Bridge or the Sun Gate, you can even ask your guide for a reference. Later you must take the bus back to the town of Aguas Calientes, and there take the train back to the town of Ollantaytambo (approximately 2 hours), then continue by bus to Cusco (and approximate trip of 2 hours). It is recommended to take a full day.
