Humantay in a small turquoise glacial lake, fed by the melted snow of the sacred mountain of the same name that is located at 4,261 meters above sea level. The approximate time is 1 hour and 45 minutes to go up to the lagoon from Soraypampa (3,820m.a.s.l.). This the first campsite of the 5-day trek from Salkantay to Machu Picchu.
The Humantay Lagoon is surrounded by many incredible mountains, including the Salkantay peak (6,271m.a.s.l.). Without any doubt, this is a small one-day hike that you should not miss if you are in Cusco.

For Humantay Lake Tour We pick you up early in the morning (4 hours a.m.) from your hotel or the place where you are staying in the city of Cusco. The trip itself is very impressive, we will pass through beautiful places, as we move away from the city, we will see different indigenous places, as well as beautiful and imposing mountains (Tutelary Apus).
The trip to Soraypampa lasts approximately 3 hours (3800m.s.n.m./ 12,460 feet), here surrounded by majestic mountains and valleys, your team of hikers prepares a delicious breakfast to give you a lot of energy before starting our ascent.
The walk is uphill which takes an estimated time of 1½ to 2 hours, with a guide pointing out the flora and fauna, you can stop to take perfect and impressive photos of the snow-capped mountains, then we will arrive at the lagoon and observe the turquoise lake called Humantay Lagoon. At the bottom of this, you can see another miracle of nature, a beautiful snow-capped mountain, from which the water that flows feeds the lagoon. After the photos, we will begin to descend from the lagoon, until arriving at Soraypampa where we will have lunch.
After a short break, we will return to Cusco in our private transport for approximately 3 hours.
